Jeow Bong - Online Orders for Superfans

Picture
Thank you for reaching out to us about our Jeow Bong.

When we made our last batch of sauces in October 2021, the red peppers we used tasted odd, and we had to toss all of our Jeow Bong. We always want you to have the best tasting sauces possible,  even if it means taking a hit.

Unfortunately, that meant that we had to reserve the cases we had left from the previous batch for the stores that we had agreements with.  But I do have one case left for our superfans.

We will be going back into production in April, and I will be sure to take extra precautions to get quality red peppers.  You will be the first to know when it is available again.

Jeow Bong (Traditional Laotian Sundried Sweet & Spicy Chili Paste).

Jeow Bong is a very special dipping sauce for the people of Laos. It originates from the ancient royal capital city and the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang in Northern Laos.

Traditionally, the sauce is made with sundried chilies, then roasted over an open fire and crushed into a paste. It is then mixed with other local ingredients to create the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The process is long, but it is a labour of love. Royalty and commoners alike enjoy this dipping sauce.

This sauce is present at every meal in a Laotian home and is usually eaten with sticky rice, but it can be spread on your sandwiches, added to your stir fry, soup and even spaghetti sauce for more depth and flavor!
