This past year has been interesting. With the lockdowns and social distancing, we were not able to meet you at our demos and the summer markets this year, and we lost the main source of our recipe inspiration - your suggestions!  

We appreciate that you support small, family owned business like ours, and we want to keep you abreast of what is happening. We moved to Muskoka in December, and have a new baby due at the beginning of 2021.  Once we are settled in, we will double down on our efforts to interact online with you, and bring you the recipes you have been asking for.

The Pineapple is nicknamed the King of Fruits and was once highly regarded as a status symbol for European royals, nobles and the upper class. Such was also the case when the pineapple was introduced to Southeast Asia and the ancient Kingdom of Lanxang Hom Khao (Literally: The Land of a Million Elephants and the White Parasol) - modern day Laos.

Traditionally, this special sauce was reserved for use during special celebratory meals consisting of meat and seafood.

Jeow Bong (Traditional Laotian Sundried Sweet & Spicy Chili Paste).


Jeow Bong is a very special dipping sauce for the people of Laos. It originates from the ancient royal capital city and the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang in Northern Laos.

Traditionally, the sauce is made with sundried chilies, then roasted over an open fire and crushed into a paste. It is then mixed with other local ingredients to create the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The process is long, but it is a labour of love. Royalty and commoners alike enjoy this dipping sauce.


This sauce is present at every meal in a Laotian home and is usually eaten with sticky rice, but it can be spread on your sandwiches, added to your stir fry, soup and even spaghetti sauce for more depth and flavor!

Green is the colour of life and the Laotians are famous for their strict adherence to this principle. They are known for eating large quantities of raw vegetables and herbs picked freshly from the garden at each meal.



Our green chili sauce is the embodiment of that very principle. Our secret blend of green chilies and cilantro are chosen in order to give this sauce a vibrant green colour. Traditionally, this spicy sauce is used as a dipping sauce for grilled meat and seafood.
